‘De Banjaard’ is a  multifunctional centre, treating children and adolescents aged 4 – 18 years with an intellectual disability and a psychiatric disorder.
We have in- and outpatient facilities in The Hague and outpatient facilities in Gouda. ‘De Banjaard’ is experienced in adapting treatment programs to this target group.
In 2010 all disciplines of the outpatient clinic were trained by the Lorentzhuis to work with NVR. Implementing the principles of NVR and New Authority in our work we made adaptations to our target group by visualising, concretising and structuring the original methodology of NVR. We wrote a simplified manual for parents and started a parent group in 2012. At the same year 5 team members (Corine van Vliet, Irma van Klink, Clarie Dekkers, Nadine van Ooijen and Wil Dirks) attended the Advanced Course in Tel Aviv and we will extend and improve our work with parents and children, at home and in school.

We have recently opened our own training centre and currently the inpatient clinic workers are being trained.

We offer:

  • Intensive out reaching family therapy: house visits once or twice a week, everyday accessibility by phone, parent group, time-in-group for the children/teenagers. The principles of NVR are explained and practiced in families and in school.
  • Individual Parent Counselling.
  • Specialized NVR training for professionals who know the methodology, but our training is applied specifically to our target group. Adaptations such as, but not limited to: visualising, concretising and structuring the methodology.
  • Training for schools or others professionals that are interested in NVR.
