Newsletter - June 2013

June, 2013

In this edition of the N.A.N.I newsletter we are highlighting the many contributions and projects undertaken by activists from across the continent.
We recommend an added article written by Peter Jakob, a leading NVR trainer from England. The main focus of the paper - Child focus in NVR, is on reconciliation gestures, and how they increase awareness of children's unmet needs.
You can also read about a recent research study, conducted by Trisha McMahon from the University of Limerick, Ireland. In this study, practitioners from four countries were interviewed regarding their experiences working with the NVR model. The results yielded significant insights into professional, practical and conceptual factors of NVR, in addition to offering direction for further research. You can read here a short description of the research.
We hope you enjoy the reading and as always encourage you to comment and share thoughts in the activists' open forum

Not only do we see the expansion of research in NVR, but also the furthering exchange of ideas and experience. In the EU project, entitled  - “NVR in Europe”, colleagues from Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Holland arrived at SOS Kinderdorf in Hamburg for their 2nd meeting. They shared experiences regarding their work with NVR in different settings and developed new ideas for the future. Attached is a short summary of their fruitful meeting.

A basic NVR training, as it is taught at the New Authority Center in Israel, took place for the first time in Zurich, Switzerland. Dr. Uri Weinblatt and Idan Amiel (from Israel) teamed up together with Claudia Seefeldt from isi-netz24 and introduced the concepts for more than 30 participants. Read here about the training program.
Two special education schools from the Netherlands - Altra College and BE started to implement NVR & NA in their daily school work. The project started in March with a basic NVR workshop conducted by Ron Ottenbros and Kirsten van Gink, NVR trainers from de Bascule. We welcome both schools for being the first schools in Netherlands to apply NA/NVR and wish them a productive and successful implementation.
Frank Van Holen and Jan Hoet from Belgium also conducted an NVR training for teachers that was held at Antwerp University. It is clear that NVR is gaining the interest of many professionals from different fields.

Last,  but by no means least,  we also welcome Systemische Akademie Bramsche who have joined  N.A.N.I  in our growing list of NVR organizations. You can read and join their new NVR training done by Ruth Tillner, Martin Lemme and more leading NVR trainers from Germany.

 Did you know…

  • Three leading NVR professionals from the German Kompetenznetzwerk - Angela Eberding, Petra Girolstein and Dennis Haase visited Israel in May. As part of their visit they toured Schneider hospital and met  with our team from the New Authority Center. During their visit they participated in the supervision of the NVR therapists at the Parents' Counseling Clinic, joined the telephone supporters meeting and also watched part of the NVR training program for professionals at Schneider.
We encourage more NVR activists to come and visit us in Israel and share knowledge and ideas for promoting NVR and NA.
